# Introducing JOLT: newest member of cathodoluminescence detection product line

We are starting the year with introducing the new product in the cathodoluminescence detection line: JOLT.

This easy-to-use and budget-friendly detector is perfect for cathodoluminescence (CL) measurements of geological and optoelectronic samples.

JOLT can be offered in two variations: a panchromatic version and an RGB color version. Panchromatic version allows to obtain information on the [intensity of the signal](https://request.delmic.com/cathodoluminescence-intensity-mapping-application-note-delmic), while RGB version provides color information of the light. Both versions can be mounted on any scanning electron microscope (SEM) with a free EDS port, and are controlled by an external control panel in combination with SEM control computer.

JOLT can help the researchers to get quick and clear measurements of various materials, including ceramics, [LED materials](https://blog.delmic.com/news/new-cathodoluminescence-application-note-on-bulk-and-nanostructured-gallium-nitride-based-led-materials), [geological samples](https://www.delmic.com/cathodoluminescence-geology), [semiconductors](https://blog.delmic.com/new-possibilities-for-studying-compound-semiconductors-with-cathodoluminescence-and-time-resolved-imaging-techniques).
